This dissertation thesis is concerned with city of Brno in connection with high concentration of local universities' students in proportion to city inhabitants and optional propositions of city development solutions. There is brief description and characteristics of the main objectives in introductory part and methods to accomplish it. Ensuing the description of key words based on specialized literature of Czech and international authors, which is connected with the issue and chapter where is described the development of universities in Brno. The main part of thesis is the research targeted on transportation and accommodation of students in Brno and financial demands of study at university in the city. Except that there were studied services which university student usually use and amount of money which they are spending here.

This thesis analyses the targets for education under Europe 2020 strategy - early leavers from education and tertiary education attainment. The main objective is to predict the future development for these indicators up to 2020 and answer the question whether these targets will be fulfilled. From the empirical perspective, it applies econometric analysis of panel data based on human capital theory, that relates the education level of an individual with the parental education and the labour market conditions.

Application possibilities of the concept of open education at Czech universities

5 Abstract: In the introduction the theoretical and philosophical bases are discussed and related to specifics in education in postmodern society. The following are definitions of the historical development of distance education. The key elements of the work are characteristic of The Open University and Open Educational Resources initiative. In both cases, the use SWOT analysis in which it is included also a general appreciation of the advantages the use of e-learning. Specifically, in the case of the Open University is first summarized the historical development in the context of social change from 60th to 90th years of the 20th century. Following evaluation of the current state of the multiple viewpoints. The challenge is to become familiar with current educational offer and new trends that raises this institution. In the case of OER is first placed emphasis on the definition and delimitation of specific outputs inciativy both the institutional background and specific projects implemented non-profit and private sectors. Barbora Votavová ISS FSV UK Diploma thesis abstract University career without a degree - drop-out phenomenon in the context of university education massification The thesis focuses on the phenomenon of not finishing university in the context of masification of tertiary education and changign character of labour market. Unlike educational reproduction and mobility, that is often studied in Czech context, only a couple of texts focus on the phenomenon of not finishing. This text therefore tries to open this topic by analyzing experiences and narration of those who leave university before getting a degree. Based on interviews with drop-outs, it searches for the specific aspects of their educational trajectories. It attempts to reconstruct the meanings that they ascribe various parts, moments and characteristics of their own educational trajectories. The thesis searches answers to basic questions about the significance and meaning of education, trajectories and aspects influencing the specific shape of the trajectory and identify areas that are relevant for the drop-out topic. Higher education in Austria: the rule of law , case studies and implications for Czech Republic

In 2015, Wien Wirtschafsuniversität ranked among economic universities regularly disclosed on the Financial Times in position number 42. The University of Economics last three years, around 80th place. Why is this so? In the context of this thesis is to analyze not only the legal prerequisites for successful graduates of the master's program Finance and Accounting, but also deals with the practical use of knowledge on the labor market resp. As well as the current unemployment of graduates in what fields they can work, etc. In this work also deals with the human capital theory, which explores the motives for higher education. They are given different conditions during their studies at WU and Economics, as well as development starting salary after graduation. The last chapter contains examples that would be good to apply in the Czech higher education system. The question remains, why WU placed on better positions than ALL? According to the author's investment in science and research in Austria - currently invest nearly 2% of GDP, as well as 100-year-old development WU, when no interruption to develop economic theory and their application in practice, as well as linking university knowledge with practice.
Electronic learning materials in tertiary education

The thesis is focused on learning materials at University of Economics Prague. In the con-text of modern trends in tertiary education it highlights opportunities to improve learning process with electronic learning materials. The theoretical part discusses the role of learn-ing materials and e-learning in tertiary education. The practical part then continues to ana-lyse the current situation of learning materials at the University of Economics. The main focus of the thesis is on the availability of high quality electronic learning materials. When looking for possible solutions the thesis also explores approaches used at other universities in the Czech Republic and abroad. It concludes with evaluation of possible solutions and makes recommendations for improving the situation with electronic learning materials at the University of Economics.

Vliv systému financování terciálního vzdělání na jeho rozsah

Kuřinová, K. Effect of tertiary education financing system on its extent. Bachelor thesis. Brno: Mendel University, 2014. The bachelor thesis deals with problem of financing of the tertiary education. The aim of thesis is to evaluate the effect of tertiary education financing system in Great Britain and Germany on its extent. First, there are described tertiary edu-cation and options for its financing. In the next part is described tertiary education financing system in the Czech Republic, Great Britain and Germany, and is evaluated effect of implementation of tuition fees in Great Britain and Germany. Based on the experience gained from these countries, there are defined potential impacts of implementation of tuition fees in the Czech Republic.
Návrh bankovního produktu zaměřeného na financování univerzitního vzdělání v České republice

This thesis deals with the situation in financing of tertiary education from both governmental and student perspective. Its objective is to find an efficient system of student support with focus on student loans that would be applicable in the Czech Republic, would promote an equal access to higher education also to students from lower socio-economic classes and at the same time would enable to increase cost-sharing in Czech tertiary education. The designed concept of student loans is based on best practices from selected European countries (Netherlands, United Kingdom and Hungary) in the background of proposed reform of Czech tertiary education. Finally, the concept is validated in a case study dealing with financing of the International Management master's programme at the University of Economics, Prague.
